Nature's Carpet Appears on Top Design Shows
Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Sarah 101 use Nature's Carpet
May 27, 2011
Vancouver, May 26, 2011 – Two of North America’s top home design television series recently utilized Nature’s Carpet as part of featured home renovations. Sarah Richardson of Sarah 101 used Nature’s Carpet from the Light Green Line for a Clutter-Free Basement makeover and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition used Cladium Granite Ridge carpet to line the stairs of its renovation in the Dickinson Family residence.
Sarah 101 host, Sarah Richardson used the carpet to bring sophistication and function to the basement. During the show, when Sarah first saw the carpet installation, she said, “Wow, it is 100% wool, environmentally friendly, (has) no off-gassing, (is) great for the kids, and it’s striped. (The carpet) has texture, which is exactly what we wanted to give, softness. And guess what? It was less expensive than any of the options we considered.”
“We were thrilled that Sarah again showed an interest in our product and were more than pleased with how the carpet looked when the project was finished,” said Chris Dragan, president, Nature’s Carpet. “To have designers of Sarah and Tommy’s caliber recognize Nature’s Carpet quality is great indication of our company’s research and product development efforts.”
Sarah’s colleague and design partner, Tommy Smythe summarized the carpet installation at the end of the episode, “ We couldn’t put something down there after going to all the trouble of inserting all of these cabinet solutions and all of this furniture and then have it under-laid with something that isn’t going to last. Invest in a really good quality carpet and let it stand the test of time.”
The opportunity to appear on Extreme Makeover Home Edition was a great chance for Nature’s Carpet to showcase how its product can be used in a feature space. The Cladium Granite Ridge was used to line the centre of the main, hardwood staircase in the Dickinson Family home; a home that was subject to toxic mold prior to its makeover.
“The overall concept of the Dickinson makeover was to provide clean air, so we were especially happy to be able to supply a product that is not only one hundred per cent natural, but helps filter allergens and dust without releasing any chemicals or gasses in the home,” said Chris Dragan.
Both Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Sarah 101 episodes were great opportunities for Nature’s Carpet to showcase its product, and each renovation exemplified key company priorities of sustainability, functionality, and durability, while incorporating high-design.
