Nature's Carpet fills in the gaps at Greenbuild 2012
November 29, 2012
The Nature’s Carpet team recently travelled to San Francisco to attend Greenbuild 2012 – the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to Green building. As the only flooring company at the expo showcasing 100% wool carpets, the Nature’s Carpet booth became a must-see stop for eco-minded architects, interior designers and specifiers on the lookout for sustainable carpet products.
San Francisco served as the perfect location for the conference; hailed as the sustainable designer’s playground, the Bay Area boasts more than 700 LEED-certified projects and nearly 1300 LEED-registered projects. The three day event brought together over 35,000 members of the green building industry for educational sessions, keynote speakers, networking events, and a vast exhibition floor with more than 1300 companies represented. Thought leaders across the movement were on hand to share their insights –including Joe Scarborough, political pundit and TV host; Cory Booker, Mayor of Newark, New Jersey; Former New York Governor George Pataki, current Lieutenant Governor of California Gavin Newsom; Biz Stone, Founder of Twitter; and Van Jones, environmental advocate, activist and author.
According to our own Brian Cox, the Godfather of Nature’s Carpet – “Spending two days at the Green Build Show in San Francisco was a very satisfying experience. It was great to participate in a movement of inspired individuals dedicated to greening their communities. It was personally very satisfying for me to see how positively our carpets were received – the demand for sustainable, high quality, biodegradeable and chemical free products is growing stronger."
The team is already looking forward to Greenbuild 2013 which will be held next year in Philadelphia Nov 20-22.
